An in-depth about me…

So I thought it would be a great and fun idea to share a little more in-depth post about me. And really dig into some of my struggles as a growing Christian woman, life, and what I truly want to build here. So, jumping right in, I was born and raised in Alabama. I touched down in 1991. I have 6 siblings: 3 sisters and 3 brothers. Growing up, we didn’t have much, but we always had each other. It seems life has a way of making people grow apart. But minus some deep-seated generational traumas, life was, I guess, normal. I really should reconsider that last statement, but I’ll say normal for me. Like most families, we have our share of woes. But moving forward, now at the age of 34, I’m a mom of a 14-year-old boy. And I’m in a 3-year relationship with a man I feel if we do it right and include God, we can make it. Mira: My whole life, I had a curiosity about God, who he was, the way he works. I always wanted to know who he was. One of my favorite movies as a kid was The Prince of Egypt. I still love that movie today. The way God used Moses, despite what he had done, God knew his heart meant well. He used Moses to free the Hebrew people from Egypt. But I think what stuck with me most was, as crazy as the circumstances were surrounding his birth and upbringing, God had a purpose for him all along. And sometimes the life or purpose, beliefs that we carry are put on us through our upbringing. But when we encounter God, although sometimes in messy situations, the truth of who we are is revealed. And it alters us, our beliefs, our way of life; everything changes. And in this movie for Moses, that came in the form of bumping into his siblings that he had no prior knowledge of, and his sister reveals the truth to him. Next, we see Moses running away only to have that truth verified. How many of us have gone through a similar time or situation in life where the life you knew and lived was a lie? I think we all have to think of your life before you found Christ. Moses was confronted with the fact that the very people he once looked down on, he was one of them as well. How could he have this truth and still live the way he did? And where did he run? To the desert, the wilderness. He stripped himself of everything that he had from home, took up the ways of the people that lived in that land, and…. He found God, in the form of a Burning Bush. And the rest is history. But look at the unfolding of that story and so many more in the Bible. As I have grown older and as I cultivate my own relationship with God, there are so many parts of my life where I had to leave things behind, some of my ways, personal beliefs, to name a few. But this story reminds me that we all have to face the truth at some point and learn and adapt to a new way of life before he can use us for his true purpose. But the truth is, it’s a lifetime journey, and although life may seem hard and unfamiliar, God is always at work. And right now in my journey, Faith is something that I am learning and just leaning on God completely. I know most of my anxiety is caused by my refusal to let go and allow God. It seems crazy to me because as someone who needs to know ALL the details before a decision, faith feels, well, if I’m completely honest, delusional. But here I am either truly delusional or stepping out on faith and allowing God to lead. And that’s why I am here. I want to create a space for everyone to read, share, and grow together in Christ. I want to create a family here, a Kingdom family to support one another, hold each other accountable, laugh, cry, and just be. No matter who you are, you’re welcome here. And that’s a little more in-depth information about me. Thank you for reading until the end. God Bless!
